Welcome to Kasia: Not Just a Brand, But a Story Woven with Love
Hello and welcome,
If you’re reading this, it means our little dream has found its way to you. And for that, we are so incredibly grateful. This is more than just our first blog post; it’s a piece of our hearts, an invitation into our world, and the story of how Kasia came to be.
It all begins with a friendship. I’m Anchal, and alongside me is my partner-in-crime, Nancy. Our story isn’t one of a sudden, dramatic leap, but rather a slow, beautiful simmer—much like the process of creating our sarees.
We met back in 2018, two young women buzzing with ideas in the vibrant chaos of a fashion brand. Over cups of coffee and tight deadlines, we discovered a shared language—one that spoke of textures, colours, and a deep respect for craft. For three years, we built that professional bond, little knowing it was the foundation for something much bigger.
Life, as it often does, took us on our own paths. I, Anchal, married into a Bengali family, and found myself enveloped in a culture whose love for sarees felt like a homecoming. I’d spend hours with my mother-in-law, admiring her treasured collection of sarees, each one wrapped in a memory, each fold telling a story of a different era. The soft rustle of the tant, the intricate borders, the stories they held—it rekindled a fascination I’d had since I was young. It was a world of heritage, of art, of identity.
Meanwhile, Nancy and I both felt a familiar restlessness. While our jobs were rewarding, we craved something more substantial, more personal. We dreamed of creating something that was truly ours.
And so, the weekend conversations began. What started as a single, "What if...?" soon turned into passionate discussions that stretched for hours. We met in cozy corners of cafes, our notebooks filled with sketches and ideologies. We asked ourselves the big questions: What kind of brand did we want to put into the world?
The answer was clear. We wanted to create for the modern Indian woman—a woman like you, like us. A woman who is rooted in her traditions but lives a dynamic, contemporary life. A woman who understands the poetry of a handcrafted piece, who seeks individuality over trends, and who sees a saree not just as a garment, but as a canvas of art and a testament to her unique identity.
Slowly, tenderly, Kasia took form. It was our brainchild that bloomed in August 2021, after months of thought, design, and soul-searching. We knew from the start that we wanted to be closer to the human touch. Our very first collection was a line of hand-printed, hand-finished sarees. We chose every colour, supervised every block, and felt the texture of every fabric.
From the initial sketch to the final fold, every single detail was—and still is—personally overseen by us. This journey began with a non-negotiable promise to ourselves and to you: Uncompromising Quality. We vowed to create sarees that you wouldn’t see everywhere. Nothing would be mass-made. Every design would be slow, exclusive, and detailed, carrying the faint, beautiful imprint of the artisan's hand.
Kasia is our love letter to the craft, to friendship, and to every woman who chooses to wear a story.
This is just the beginning of our conversation. We are so excited to share this journey with you, to learn from you, and to create beautiful heirlooms together.
With all our love,
Anchal & Nancy
